Business Etiquette

Business Etiquette has been a generally unspoken topic for years. However, it has become one of Generational issues that has sparked new discussion - particularly in professional or sales organisations. Older staff may take this for granted, but younger staff often have no basis on how to behave when dealing with clients.

We present this as a full day seminar (including Networking Skills or a related topic) or as a conference keynote address.

• Business Etiquette
Well known commentator, Paula Gamonal* says it very well: "Business etiquette is made up of significantly more important things than knowing which fork to use at lunch with a client. Unfortunately, in the perception of others, the devil is in the details."

Some of the Key Issues:
Representing your organisation at a function, conference, meeting or sales appointment involves how you are perceived...because you are the company in that situation. Are you embarrassing or embarrassed? Are people comfortable around you? Are you comfortable around them? How do you deal with Networking opportunities? The session is designed to open up discussion on the sometimes difficult cultural issues of handshaking e.g. 'wet fish' and the 'crusher'. Eye contact can be both a cultural and generational issue. How can the ethics and values of your organisation be comprimised or enhanced by how you conduct yourself?
